Mercado Central

The Mercado Central t is located within the commune of Santiago, in the historical center of the capital. The building has two floors and has 241 stores - restaurants, botilleries, butchers, herb shops, bakeries, fishmongers, cheese shops, grocery and craft stores - that are visited by tourists, both foreign and national. At present, the Central Market of Santiago is a place recognized for its gastronomy, which has preserved traditional Creole recipes - among its specialties there are typical dishes such as marshal, sea paila and fried fish - forming part of the Chilean culinary heritage.
