The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (MNBA) is one of the main centers of dissemination of visual arts in Chile. Founded on September 18, 1880 under the name of National Museum of Paintings, it has been the first art museum in Latin America since 1910 in Santiago Centro occupies a building located in the Forest Park, the Palace of Fine Arts. It has a library specialized in visual arts that has approximately 100,000 volumes, holds temporary and itinerant exhibitions, maintains an educational program, with workshops, courses and guided visits, and produces informational material.
